Fork In The Rain
I took a wrong turn home Found a fork in the rain One sign said "keep going" One sign said "come back again" A dog on the corner Knew my name by the way I stood I laughed at my own shoes When they carried me where they could
And maybe that's the trick Maybe that's the game You don't get a warning You just learn the shape
Fork in the rain Fork in the rain Which road will you take? Fork in the rain Fork in the rain I choose the one that shakes (Choose the one that shakes)
I met a kid with a kite Tangled up in a fence He said, "I always lose it Right before it makes sense" There was soup in a window And a radio on the sill A woman laughed too hard Like she knew she always will
And maybe that's the trick Maybe that's the name You bend with the weather You stay in the frame
Fork in the rain Fork in the rain Which road will you take? Fork in the rain Fork in the rain I choose the one that shakes (Choose the one that shakes)
If I end up broken Let it be on my feet If I end up lonely Let it be in the street But if you hear me calling Meet me where the puddles shine I'll bring the half-made answers You bring the other line
Fork in the rain Fork in the rain Which road will you take? Fork in the rain Fork in the rain I choose the one that shakes Fork in the rain Fork in the rain I don't need it to be straight (Choose the one that shakes)
